From PartnerSource or CustomerSource, download the Dynamics GP 2018 R2 DVD and install it. You only need to add the 'Web Client Runtime' feature to this install, so it will create the 'WebClient' folder we need.

Once GP 2018 R2 is installed, you should see the 'WebClient' folder at C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2018R2\ or the directory where you installed it.

In the GP 18.2 directory on the Web Client server that Web Client is actually pointed to and using, either rename or remove the 'WebClient' folder out of that GP directory and replace it with the GP 2018 R2 version of the 'WebClient' folder you copied from the GP 2018 R2 install above.

Now, launching Web Client, the Copy/Paste and right-click functionality should be back to how it was before it was broken by the GP 18.2 version.

Can you tell me what to do exactly? I mean, what are the steps, knowing that I don’t have Dynamics GP 2018 R2

    Thanks

When you mention 'clipboard', are you meaning the Copy/Paste functionality in Web Client, and if so, are you on an 18.2 version of Dynamics GP and Web Client?

The reason I ask is, we have found an issue with Web Client on the 18.2 version where copy/paste and the right-click commands do not work.

The issue is with the Web Client Runtime DLL files that are created during the install of Dynamics GP 18.2.

To work around this issue, what we’ve had customers do is either install Dynamics GP 2018 R2, if they don’t already have an instance of GP 18.0 R2, and install the ‘Web Client Runtime’ feature. This will put a folder in the GP 2018 R2 directory that is named ‘WebClient’.

Then, take a copy of the 'WebClient' folder from the Dynamics GP 2018 R2 directory and use it to replace the ‘WebClient’ directory from the 18.2 Dynamics GP directory that Web Client is pointed at and using, then log back into Web Client for Dynamics GP 18.2, which should resolve the copy/paste functionality issue, along with right-click processes within GP/Web Client.

This issue is scheduled to be resolved in the upcoming release this Fall, 2020.

    Thanks
