Is NAV capable of setting discounts within NAV by following business rules such as discount x% up to min margin y for product group ABC for let's say 10 customer price groups 1234, 98724 that fall into this discount program. Complexity of our business is high with ~30k customers and ~30k items but only ~1,000 key customers (Customer Price Groups) are on trade agreements. (We need to simplify the discount process since we're currently uploading .txt files which is very cumbersome).
And what are best-practices doing this discounting off of list price / using NAV to its best capabilities?
We want to get to:
Contains LM list price, competitors’ prices, discounts %, margins, cost, floor, target, ceiling
Allows us to define standard business rules
Cost plus
Competitive-based price rule (e.g. competitor 1 + 20%)
Value-based
etc.
Further narrow price setting by adding post conditions such as
-Markup or min margin %
-Max discount %
Ideal or Best practices in pricing system – wish list, needed features etc.
ØOne system of record. Do all pricing in NAV. Limited excel uploads
ØWorkflow and approval process in pricing system
ØNeed list prices, discounts, customer pricing, gross to net analysis, mass maintenance capabilities, freight?
ØWe need to incorporate up to 5 quantity breaks
ØAutomatic calculation of prices based on business rules, e.g. formula calculations such as minimum margin %, discount off list, customer segmented pricing based on a variety of factors
ØCreate a command and control center for all of our pricing-related information:
ØBecome smarter about how/when/why we price the way we do
ØCreate price-setting logic that makes sense to our bottom line and customers!
ØCapture customers’ willingnesses-to-pay, price-to-win and don’t leave money on the table
ØSpeed and agility to quickly change multiple price points based on above criteria & rules
ØWish list:
Øcommodity pricing (pass on material cost increases, e.g. aluminum +10%, paper, ink) eventually sales cost as commission floor?
Øprice optimization (ceilings, target, floor)
Øprice elasticity calculations
We will upgrade to MS Dynamics NAV 2017 or 2018.
Thank you for your advice!
