Have a few questions regarding the new Teams Webinars when selecting this option using 365M Events.
1. After the event has finished, if we send a Thanks for attending/Sorry you missed it Emails in the CJ, and use the Event link, will the event play automatically for registered attendees who either did or did not attend. Meaning, will it work in the same way as Teams Live Events did?
2. I know the recording of the event becomes available in the Teams Chat afterwards, but how long is this available after the event have finished. Is it still 6 months?. Some of our events we want to promote as on-demand. I need to know whether i am forced to move the video to our YouTube channel to provide this function?
3. As the Event host, What happens if i select "Hide" in my Chats, will the recording still be available?
Thanks
Chris
Hi Nya,
I found out that after an October release my company will be able to set the expiry policy date ourselves. That means we can make this as long as we like.
When offering a Teams Webinar as "On-Demand" (post live webinar date) i know i can re-use the same Event Registration Form.
I also use Event registration + timestamp in my CJ to make this that All registrations the day after the live event has finished, will proceed down my new "On-demand CJ"
The video mp4 file is in "my recordings" in my onedrive account.
My question then is with "Watch now" button on my Email in my new "On-Demand" CJ.
1. Do i continue use the "Teams Check-in " button since my Webinar event end date has not been set. Meaning i keep the event live inside the Event module?
2. Or should i stop this event and just create a simple On-demand registration form + confirmation email with a "Watch Now" URL button with a link to the following below?
The only way i can seem to manipulate the expiry time is when i change the current "Specific People" to "Anyone with URL"
You thoughts here are appreciated!
Chris
Hi Chris,
I'd like to confirm if there is any further doubt about Dynamics.
Hi,
I can only provide you with some Teams documentation for now, but I'm not sure if this is the correct and complete answer, for example there may be some special cases.
The control of the recording of Meetings and Webinars is the sole responsibility of Teams and Dynamics does not have any influence on it.
Hi, that sucks, its even worse than the 90 days we had for Teams Live Events. That means we will have a lot of extra work to make to have to move our Videos top Youtube. This also makes it difficult for me to persuade our marketing Teams not to use ON24. ON24 store videos indefinately so we can offer On-demand and keep generating new leads.
Hi Chris,
It is actually an issue within the scope of Teams.
I have not tried it myself, but according to the Frequently asked questions, Teams meeting recordings will expire in 60 days by default no matter which type it is.
For the exact answer, please refer to experts who are familiar with Teams.
Hi Nya, appreciate the fast reply, One question you didnt answer was "How long is the video available on OneDrive/Sharepoint" Is there a limit of 6 months like Teams Live Events had, or is this up to us and we can keep some video indefinately?
Hi Chris,
For more in-depth issues with Teams, please post to the Microsoft Tech Community for further help.
