Fetch Bank Statement with an API

(0) ShareShare

We are currently setting up Advanced Bank Reconciliation functionality. We have a requirement to automatically fetch and import statements from Westpac in Australia on a daily basis. Could anyone outline/suggest best way to achieve this? Would we have to create a custom API or is there an alternative?

Thanks for any advice

    Hi Simon Smith,

In Australia, BAI2 format is used to import bank statement from bank like ( National Australian Bank, Westpac, Bank of Queensland)

Did you check the below documentation to setup import of BAI2 bank statements section:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../set-up-advanced-bank-reconciliation-import-process

You can also use Electronic reporting as well to import bank statement, you need to setup ER model and configuration.

    Hi Simon,

RPI might be an alternative to creating a custom API.

With Flow (PowerAutomate) you can design RPI desktop flows to grab the bank statement files on a daily basis and put them into a folder that is used for batch imports of your statements.

That might be an cost-efficient alternative.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thanks Ludwig. Do you have any similar examples of creating an RPI you could send me a link to? Ive done an MS Flow to fetch GL Journals in Dropbox successfully with some technical help but not to sure the process to create something like this. Cheers and Happy new year

    Good morning Simon,

There is a powerthon event coming up where a number of people plan doing some demos around RPI and what can be done with that.

    events.powercommunity.com/.../

Would recommend that you register and participate.

    Its for free.

    Cheers,

    Ludwig
