I am trying to deploy the update KB 4015173 and it fails at step 58: Start script for service model: AOSService on machine:"
The error is as follows:The description for Event ID 110 from source Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
AX is shutting down due to an error.
Failed to initialize time zone defaults
Exception details:
Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.InitializationException: Failed to initialize time zone defaults
at Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.AOS.StartupInternal(String[] Arguments)
at Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.AOS.Startup()
at Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.AosConfig.AzureConfig.Init()
at Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Batch.BatchService.OnStart(String[] args)

I had exactly the same error while installing latest platform updates for PU15, I would expect the scripts to turn off maintenance mode prior to trying to restart the batch service :)

that was my fault. Maintenance mode was enabled. Due to that the BatchService was not starting.
After disabling Maintenance mode everything is working fine.

we currently get the same error on a sandbox environment. After deploying a package the BatchService is not starting:

Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Batch.BatchService+MaintenanceModeBatchStartupException: Exception of type 'Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Batch.BatchService+MaintenanceModeBatchStartupException' was thrown.
Both the box and the code from the deployable package are on plettform update 4.
In our build environment the BatchService is running without this error.
Any suggestions?

On what platform update are you trying to apply this update? The fixes are platform update dependent.
It this environment a DEV box or a sandbox environment? Do you have customizations on this environment or is it a vanilla environment?
