Trying to Post an ALE to period 13 and getting the below error message.

I have found that period 12 also needs to be open in order to utilize period 13. Both of the periods are open and I'm still unable to post. Any ideas.

Period for 6/30/2016 does not exist.

Fiscal period for 6/30/2016 is not open.

    Hello Brian,

    How did you setup "period 13"?

    Meaning what type is this period of?

    Assuming that it is setup as a closing period, you need to use the closing sheet in GL to post transactions into this closing period (GL-Periodic-Fiscal Year Close - Closing sheet). You cannot use an ordinary GL/AP/... Journal to generate Transactions for those closing periods.

    Hi Ludwig,

    I was able to create an Advanced Ledger Entry dated 6/30/2016 for period 13 and post with out any issues in their test environment to the closing period 13.

    Hello Brian Brown,

    Sounds interesting. The advanced ledger entry is a public sector feature. I have not seen and worked with companies using it. Would you mind explaining a bit more how and for what purposes you use this functionality. I believe this might help many other people if this functionality can be used also outside the public sector.
