Activities during Customer Journey regarding object ID

User story:
As a Marketing Professional,
i would like to create a trigger based journey which creates a Follow Up Phone Call or Task after an opportunity is created,
to give the sales person the indicator about which opporunity he needs to take care of,
and to see the related phonecall/task on opportunity related activites.

Problem:
Everthing is working fine, but the created phonecall is always related to the contact and not to the opportunity which triggered the journey.

My idea now was to create a plug in which is checking if the activity is created by a trigger based journey, and if so, change the regarding object to the opportunity which started the journey.

Does it make sense or is there another way to achieve the requirement?

There is several ways of doing it. A plugin is one way but there's several other methods you can use with a combination of a custom trigger and power automate.

You can create a custom trigger and add in values that you want to pass through into that trigger along with the customer data (e.g. either the lead id or contact id). I'd then create a field for the opportunity ID and the in the journey. Rather than use the create phone call or create task step you can use this trigger instead.

Amey wrote a good article about it here:

You can see with custom fields there's so much you can do with a custom trigger. Not only can you pass the IDs of the opportunity to the trigger but you can even add maybe a field for example called "activityType" where you can pass through either task or phonecall. That way you can reuse the one trigger for creating both tasks and phonecalls.

You'll obviously need to handle the check in the power automate side of things but see how you can create a dynamic and reusable trigger that could solve your needs.
