Changing Payment Advice Layout

Hi all,

I have been trying to change the layout of the payment advice that is associated to the ISO20022 Credit Transfer.

So far, I have managed to insert an image on the file but I also want to remove some captions and change other captions.

The captions I would like to remove are:

  • Telephone
  • Telex
  • BACS/CHAPS
  • Cash discount date
  • Currency (as it's duplicated)

The captions I would like to change are:

  • Vendor's name - bigger and on bold
  • Invoice - change label to "Document"
  • Date - change to "Document date"
  • Invoice Amount - change to "Document amount"
  • Discount used - change to "Discounts"
  • Payment amount - change to "Amount setlled"

Then I would also want to add the following captions:

  • Vendor account number
  • Text on the bottom of the document
  • Company's information, also on the bottom of the document

Can anyone please tell me how to do this?

Thanks,

Mafalda

    RE: Changing Payment Advice Layout

Hi Ludwig, my customer is also using ISO 20022. I followed your instructions which have been really helpful. However, I have been using business documents recently and the format mapping and model mapping are quite different. I need to add additional fields onto the covering letter but cannot map to the data source. Also, if you use ISO 20022, can you still print a payment advice manually from the menu options on a vendor payment journal - Print > Payment Advice? I had previously developed a vendor payment advice business document for this purpose but when I try to print a payment advice, it always outputs with no data. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advice. Karen

    Hi André,

We would like to make the changes in a functional way, without any development effort.

    Thank you for your answer!

    Hello Mafalda,

For the electronic reporting (ER) ISO 20022 payment element, you can make the adjustments yourself.

To do that, you would have to create a copy / derived version that is linked to your provider and not the default Microsoft provider.

Once that is done, you can make the necessary changes in the Excel attachments and elements.

Here is a screenprint that shows you the element in ER.

Might not be easy if you have not done similar adjustments in ER before because the payment related models and configurations are quite complex but it can be done without coding.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    RE: Changing Payment Advice Layout

    Hi Mafalda,

To change the fields in the Excel file, open the attachment and make the changes you want, including font sizes and bolding and all of that. To add fields, you need to create a named cell range in Excel for each new field. After making those changes, you need to go to the designer and update from Excel. That will add the new fields into the format node list. From there you can map the new nodes. Lastly, you will want to change the status of the latest version to Complete. That will make the changes effective so you can use this new version in the system.

There are some docs and tutorials out there that could further explain the process.

    Hi Mafalda,

If you need to have another layout, it needs to be customized using a development effort. You can read more how to do this starting on the next page from Microsoft Docs. Also read the sections about customizing existing reports using extensions.
