Number Sequence Alpha numeric

The requirement is to have the unique alpha numeric id generation with below format
A002AB20150225GL1
A009AB20150226GL2

Can the above format achievable through number sequence in Dynamics AX 2012 ?

    Hi Hariharan,

    This is purely a customization as I have gone through such requirements many times. You have to use X++ codes to increment your number sequence. In your case:

    Let us take the above given numbers: A002AB20150225GL1, A009AB20150226GL2

    So in this number there are three number sequences: A002, AB20150225, GL1. For this in you have to follow these steps:

    1. Create three fields in your table. Each for a number sequence.

    2. Follow the steps to develop number sequence.

    3. When a new record will be created in the form, it will trigger the 3 EDTs connected to the three number sequences. Therefore you will get 3 string values.

    4. concatenate the three number sequence values and assign it to the main ID field.

    Please explain more about the format of the number sequence

    which part of it is constant and which part is running number

    as per my understanding a number sequence with multiple running number is not possible

    Please verify your requirement and provide more infromation

    You will need to customize the area of the system to achieve what you have described.

    Hi,

    number sequence all Alpha numeric with constant part and auto increment part, in your case you have multi auto increment parts with different values , so I don't think this is possible.
