I have been standing up a few dozen remote VDIs for key players in my company to access and begin working in and on the new Dynamics SL 2018 environment. (New to us, we are finally transitioning off of SL 2011). We have to use SL 2018 on-prem due to the nature of our business and a lack of required functionality in the Dynamics 365 environment.
With this foundation information, my issue is as follows:
I am setting up a new user on a VDI, UAC is disabled, installation drive for the SL/Applications network location is mapped and registry keys have been updated for the permanently mapped SL\Applications directory. On a specific user, when I launch the SL program, her account can find the correct database server and correct database, but when I try to select a company the company name is not found. I have confirmed that the user is setup appropriately in SL>User Maintenance and that the user has all appropriate permissions to use SL 2018 under the desired company.
I know this has to be some simple configuration switch that I have missed but perhaps i am too close to the situation to consider what I may have missed. Resolution: End User must be a member of groups with not only report access but also specified module access. I mistakenly only ported access from our old SL 2011 system to reports and not module access.
