Dear Dynamics community,

I would like to generate a power BI report for a given opportunity, the report will provide insight of the opportunity based on historical data and opportunity main information ( type of project, client ,...)

for instance it will provide past success ratio for the opportunity client or type of work in order to guide the decision.

is this possible to generate a powerBI report for an opportunity based on the opportunity fields

Hi Pierre Souesme I hope you are doing good.

As Power BI has a native integration with Dynamics is easier to do this kind of this.

To create a Power BI Dashboard consuming data form Dynamics, you must connect the instance Web API. You can find the step by step of doing so here:

You also can embed Power BI Dashboard into Dynamics to see your visualization into the CRM. You are also interested of doing so, first you must go to Advanced Settings > Administration > System Settings > Reporting > Allow Power BI visualization embedding. Administrator-level access is required. Then follow these instructions:

Thank you very much for your swift answer, this is very useful.

to clarify my objective, I want to generate a dashboard tailored for a specific opportunity ( or with automatic filter with opportunity data)

the idea is to click a link on the opportunity that would open a dashboard based on opportunity information ( for instance qty of winning projects for the same client/ qty of winning /loss projects in the same area) to give some insight and guidance of a specific prospect

You can integrate a Power BI report with Dynamics 365 and filter it based on the context of a specific record. Please refer to the following blog:
