Hi,
I have an issue that the field service schedule board is not working with unified interface disabled.
I have turned off the unified interface, due we cannot work with this in our company.
However there is an issue loading the schedule board. I had to edit the legacy Dynamics 365 sitemap to access is, since it apparently is a separate url, and not an entity. And it's only added as default to the unified interface...
This is the error i'm getting when assessing it..
If I clock "ok" it just loading forever...
I have added it to sitemap by copying the xml from the unified sitemap and adding it to the legacy dynamics 365 sitemap..
OK, I now understand your pain and sadly can't help you with that. I agree that it was much more comfortable in the old UI, to Lookup records if you wanted to display/compare more than 3 columns when choosing a record.
By "deactivated" I simply meant that if you only have one View to chose from the Eye-symbol gets greyed out/deactivated.
moko33, Can you please explain more in details what you mean by if it's deactivated?
I know I can change the view with the eye symbol. But the main problem is that everything is so small, and we are missing the header columns like before, where you got a very good overview of the records. Compared to now the overview is close to not existing :/ So for the light user the new unified lookup is great, but for the user that work with more complex tasks it's a major drawback!
The View Selector can be found when clicking on the Eye symbol at the bottom if your Lookup dialog.
If it is deactivated that check the number of views made available for the app as well as on the form field customization.
There a several small things that's not ideal for the user. One of the major things is the new design of the lookup fields, where there is not a lookup dialog with view selector anymore. On the old one you got a good overview with headings etc etc. On the new unified, its very hard to get a good overview if you have many records.. Yes you can expand the results with more details but still it's very hard to get a overview trough a lot of records. It's one of those things that maybe are fine on a mobile device, but not on a PC - where you manage more complex tasks.
Keep in mind that even though it works, it is not supported. Out of curiosity - why do you go back to the web client?
Allright, but maybe there was a work around.
I can manually add them on the sitemap, as they where not there from the beginning. And the functionality seems to be fine for other entities like work order etc. However the only issue is the Schedule board...
This is from the opt-in page:
Please note that once you install the Project Service Automation or Field Service UCI Release version, these apps will no longer show on the site map of the legacy web client. Field Service/PSA functionality cannot be accessed using the Web UI anymore. These solutions only work as Unified Client applications.
Im on the newest version 8.6.0.274. What do you mean by it's no longer supported? have Microsoft confirmed this somewhere? I can access the Field service from classic web client view and work normally (However I have to add the entities to the sitemap)Is there any methods I can use Field service with the classic web instead of unified interface?
What FS version do you use? If you are on v8.x, Unified Interface is your only option, web client is no longer supported.
