Correct Licensing Strategy

Hello!

We are a start-up with ~13 people and mostly non-physical products, mainly consulting services. We are having first thoughts in moving from Zoho CRM to Dynamics, not only because we are already using Microsoft 365 Business, but for many more reasons and incapabilities regarding Zoho. Our product catalogue has a pretty complex structure and we would like to be able to organize families and hierarchies within the CRM.

With our current understanding of the licensing guide, we'd plan to start with 2 Enterprise licenses, 1 Professional, 10 Team Members.

My question ist, whether this mix of Enterprise and Professional is possible? So we can have two sales users (with product management responsibilities) managing the product portfolio  (besides their sales activities) with advanced functionality on the catalogue in the Enterprise version, one sales user with "ordinary" sales functionality, and the rest of the team will have limited Team Member licenses.

Is there a quick an easy answer on this?

Thanks and regards
Sebastian

    Hi Sebastian,

As per contractual agreement, you can't mix and match Enterprise and Professional users on the same instance.

    Hi Sebastian,

We can help organize your product catalog using Products and families. This should be possible within the professional license itself. We would probably need to understand the complexities to give a final solution.

    Can you share further details?

    Hi Zack,

thanks for offering your support. We are not yet at the point of going in detail with our product catalogue. What I will do now is checking the capabilities of families and hierarchies in detail, that come with the Enterprise edition. Just to make sure that we would not need them and that the Professional edition will be finde for us.

    Regards

    Sebastian
