Sitemap: Link to Entity with Specific View

Hi Everyone,

I have edited the sitemap for the on-premise 2013 CRM with the help of the CRM Sitemap Editor by Simpler Software.

What i am trying to achieve is to specify the view of the entity.

I know that i can set a default view for an entity, but i want to do that through the sitemap because the same entity will need to have different view selected.

Example: we have an entity called Assets. This entity contains all the information for all the assets that our customers have.

Now depending on the department that uses CRM a different view needs to be used in order to make this understandable.

Deployment Dept needs to have a view that shows only Assets that need to get deployed, while the Staging Dept only the ones that require to be Staged.

What is the best way to achieve something like this?

Thanks in advance.

Thanos

I am also having a similar issue.  I'm trying to edit the sitemap to navigate to a specific view within the Account entity.  There's the default Accounts navigation,, pulling up the Active Accounts,  and I want another to pull up the custom Active Vendors view   The Active Vendor is based on the Active Accounts with a filter of relationship Type = Vendor.  I was able to create another entity named vendor and directed it to that view.  But in the end, I just want it to go straight the accounts view with out having to duplicate data or add ins

This cannot be achieved using sitemap. You can achieve this by having custom grid in web resource and show that web resource through sitemap.

    Hi Thanos,

You can have URL to link to the specific View in the CRM sitemap, it is possible.

    Official article you can refer:

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg328483.aspx

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg328483.aspx

    But do note:

    1. Other views would not be hidden

So, the Asset entity views will appear all, but the sitemap will redirect you to the specific view..

    2. If the users pin recently views or the last view they visit, it is possible the view will be redirected to that view, not the one you setup, I haven't really tried this, but it is possible.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
