setup sharepoint for Dynamics v9

Hello, I want to setup sharepoint integration(document management) for Dynamics v9 (exact version: 9.0.0009.0004) but I don't know if I need to install something like a sharepoint server ?

If you have such an experience please share the steps with me.

    IT team did setup of SharePoint for me. Didn't bother diving deep down in this technology.
