There is a problem with Journal upload into D365. When an excel spreadsheet is being uploaded during the upload process it changes the voucher.

See below for screenshots. Looking for suggestions on what might be causing this?

if your transactions posted with Correct Voucher Numbers then you don't need to worry, but if you really want to change the behavior you can set the "Number Allocation at Posting" option to No under Relevant  Journal Name then it will use the original voucher number. but then you need to specify the Actual Voucher Number (s) on your Excel Template.

    Hello ASidd,

Why is it a problem if Dynamics changes the voucher numbers?

From my perspective this is what I would expect because how can the outside data that you want to import know what voucher number is the next one?

If people are posting transactions all the time in your system while you are running an import, seeing a change in the voucher number seems to be normal to me.

You can of course make use of the voucher number assignment feature at posting that Amith mentioned but this won't ensure that the numbers that you upload will be changed.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi ASidd,

I do understand that the voucher are already different directly after import, but not after posting? In that case, it is not related to the temporary voucher number. It is related to the setup of voucher series on the journal name. If this has a number sequence which is not set to manual, then during import, it will assign voucher number like you were entering the journal as manual process.

When creating the journal names, you can only assign number sequences which do have the continuous option enabled and not set to manual. After the setup, you can change the behavior of the selected number sequence.
