Expense Journal Posting Error - Unable to post from Journal Lines form

Hi Experts,
I have created Expense Journal in Project Management for around 1000+ lines.
I then hit Post button and then Closing the screen thinking it will post in background. However when I checked after an hour, it is showing locked with my name and when went into Lines, Post button getting enabled and seems nothing is getting posted. Any suggestion or past exp?

monitored the Journal posted by you are below are the results: say all the journals has 1000+ lines

Journal A: Successfully Posted ( Posted using batch)

Journal B: Not Posted (Posting started from Expense Form)

Journal C : Posted (Posting started from Expense Form) but had to wait till the Journal gets posted around some time

Hence it looks when you initiate posting from expense form, the window needs to be remained open till the posting gets completed. Therefore I suggest to post the remaining Journals using batch.

Any suggestions or advise?

    Hello Vaibhav S,

I do not fully understand you first question. Why you try to post a journal and then close the journal? I would expect that this interrupts the process as you mentioned. Posting 1000 lines should not take too long. Why don't you leave this browser window just open for a couple of minutes?

What is the question about Journal A, B and C. Can you clarify?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig

Thanks for your quick answer.  Yes, Probably that is the thing is happening.  System is interrupting the operation (posting of Journal).

Regarding Journals ABC are the examples we tested.

As mentioned Journal A was interrupted once we close the browser.  Journal B is getting posted via Post Journal Batch from General Journal even after closing the Browser and Journal C is getting posted but we have to wait on the screen (can not close Browser).

So my further question is, this is normal that if we post from the Journal and close the browser system will interrupts the processing of Journal?

Hi, I would consider this normal if you have not setup batch posting.

    Best regards

    Ludwig
