Hello all -
My client uses a 4-4-5 fiscal calendar. The first month of the journal will use as of date 9/30/2022. The second month general journal should have an as of date = to 10/28/2022 based on the fiscal calendar. However, when I 'Retrieve' the periodic journal D365 wants to use a date of 10/31/2022. I get no results on the journal line. Why is this? Is it because the periodic journal is based on unit = months and number of units = 1. Seems like D365 is ignoring the 4-4-5 end date and instead is pulling in standard calendar month end dates. Anyone else experience this issue? Am I setting up my periodic journal incorrectly?
Any advice is appreciated.
Hi Barry,
About setting up 4-4-5 Fiscal Calendar, please check the following steps:
1. Create a new fiscal calendar;
Calendar 445
Fiscal year name 2022
Length of period 1
Unit years
2. Create a new fiscal year
3. Set up the first period as opening and the third as closing
4. Divide de Period 1 - repeat it until you have all 12 periods
Update the Month and Quarter column during the dividing.
Best Regards,
Charlotte
A unit Months is different from a fiscal calendar period. The Months option is really about a calendar month. To be able to have a ledger period, you might consider a customization.
