Agreement - Default System Status to Active?

Hi,

Currently when creating a new Agreement the System Status field auto defaults to Estimate.  I have attempted to change the default for to Active but it still defaults to Estimate.  Also attempted using a workflow.  No joy.  Any suggestions on how to get around this - this business would prefer that all new agreements system status defaults to active?

Thanks

Can you elaborate why you'd want it to be 'Active' as default?

The general process is to create an agreement record first, then create booking/invoice setups and then change the status from Estimate to Active. This transition then kicks off background processes to auto. create agreement booking dates etc. If you'd instead change the agreement's status to Active even before the creation of booking/invoice setup, then background processes will not create any booking date records etc.

Does the System Status change after save of the Agreement record?

Have you only created an Agreement record or you have generated bookable date?

Please share FS version and did this use to work before?

Doesnt the Start Date and End Date need to be populated first before it goes Active?

    Hi Cpmt1977,

A new agreement record has a system status value of estimate while it is being built. You need to define high level details, recurrence, and work before activating an agreement record. When you activate the agreement record, related records such as maintenance dates and work orders will be generated. Due to this functionality, it does not make sense to default an agreement record to the active system status.
