Hey,

maybe you guys could help me trouble shoot a problem I've been experiencing.

If I make a segment with a time condition, that gathers all my customer in to it that have bought a product within 7 days, can I use this segment in a Customer Journay that's duration is longer than the said 7 days.

If I have 7 days condition in segment, is it possible to make eq. 14 day long customer journeys, or do the recipients drop out from the customer segment, when the 7 day segment condition edceeds?

Thank you for you answers in advance!

Br,

Arttu

    Hi Arttu,

It depends on how do you design customer journey.

If it is a recurring customer journey, and there are only a segment tile and a marketing tile in the journey.

Contact won't receive emails sent on days 8, 9 and 10, because he/she will be removed from segment due to time frame filter.

If it is a general customer journey, but you send multiple emails by scheduler control:

Then contact will still receive 8th, 9th and 10th emails, because he/she has been processed by customer journey and will flow to end of customer journey/finish the customer journey.

Hey and thanks for all  the replies,

Maybe I explained myself poorly, but your answers weren't straight to the question I was asking. Let me try again:

    - If a segment is based on for example: contacts who have made a purchase within 7 days.

    - If a customer journey lasts for example 10 days (1 email per day)

Question: Does the contact receive the emails sent on days 8, 9 and 10 or does he drop out of the segment before the emails are sent?

In other words: If the segment time conditions are shorter than the customer journey, does the customer still finish the customer journey, even tho' he has fallen out of the segment?

RE: Customer Journey duration longer than Segment conditions

    Hi Arttu,

as Clofly has written, Within X is a relative date operator, so the window is sliding each day. So this segment will exist after 7 days - but it's size will depend on whether there will be customers who continue buying the products after that period of time.

So old segment members might be removed from the segment if they don't make new purchases in a week but at the same time new ones may appear and will start their journeys from the very beginning

RE: Customer Journey duration longer than Segment conditions

    Hi Arttu,

As doc statedThe date of the moving window is always calculated based on the current date, so if you enable this, then some contacts may slip out of the segment with each passing day unless they remain engaged.

If your customer bought a product again on 8th day, then he/she will still stay in segment.
