We use Integration Manager to upload Journal Entries. Is there a way I can also upload comments along with the debits and credits?
Hi Vegas,
Can you elaborate what "Integration Manager" is? Is this a third party solution? What type of comments do you want to provide? Is this a transaction text or something different?
Hi Vegas Controller,
Can you also let us know what D365FO version you operate?
Many thanks,
Ludwig
Great Plains version 18.3.1200.
I’m very new to Dynamics, so I will do the best I can to answer your questions.
Integration Manager Is another program we use to upload batches into GP.
I only mentioned it because I saw it mentioned in another post, so I thought it might be relevant.
I am trying to Post one of our month end batches. Each entry in the batch has a short comment describing the entry. Right now we use Integration Manager to upload the entries, but then we go into the batch and manually add the comments. I was hoping we could also integrate the comments with the entries.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give.

Thank you
Hi,
I'm not sure what type of transaction you are importing but you can populate the "Distribution Reference" on the GL lines and this is pulled through onto the journal.
This also exists on the PL integration as well
Hope this helps
Thanks
Gavin
You have a few options with Integration Manager (IM) and GL transactions - please see screenshot below with corresponding numbers:
1. Reference - one per journal entry, max of 30 characters - this is on the main "General Journal" mapping in IM - this is required, so I am thinking you are already using this, just wanted to mention it.
2. Distribution Reference - one per line, max of 30 characters - this is on the "Entries" mapping in IM - this is only useful if you need to have something unique for each journal entry line.
3. Note - one per journal entry, this is a text field, I believe it maxes out at 2000 characters - this is on the main "General Journal" mapping in IM. This is typically used for more detail and an explanation for the entry.
Hope that helps.
