Hello, we do not have duplicate detection turned on in production environment.
So i wanted to test it in a sandbox. I created a new sandbox and started creating the same contact with the same first name and last name and email. multiple times, two through the contact form and once through lead qualification. On the second and third try, no warning appears for duplicate detection, and I am able to create the duplicate with no messaging.
My understanding is that it is turned on by default, I checked the settings according to this article -
I checked that it's enabled and the rules are set-up for first name and last name exact match and also email address.
I also turned it off and on again, because some said it could be due to being unpublished.
Here's the kicker, I deleted the sandbox and did it again.
So this has happened now twice with a vanilla Sales Enterprise environment, is something broken on Microsoft Power Platform side?
