Sales Order Lines Report and Sales Order Line Editing

Step 1, I am trying to find a grid view in AX that shows sales order lines for multiple Customer POs at once, that includes a reference to the sales order number, the customer PO, customer ID, order quantity, order price, quantity delivered, price, etc.

Step 2, We're also trying to find a way to edit every open sales order line for a particular customer. For example, we would like to open all open sales order lines for customer A and cancel item 12345 from their sales orders. We can receive as many as 800 orders from one customer in a day and we need to cancel 10 items off of every sales order. Right now the only way we know to do this is to open each sales order, one by one, and cancel the lines.

For 1, yes, as Guy suggests should work.

For 2, use the Excel Add-In, pull down SalesLine Table, add SalesLine.SalesQty (the first Quantity), and Line Status.   Use the Add-In Filter (not excel table filters) on your customer and Item Number, Set quantity to 0 and Line Status to cancelled, publish.

RE: Sales Order Lines Report and Sales Order Line Editing

    Hi George,

    1. The list page at Sales and marketing -> Common -> Sales orders -> Backorder lines shows order lines. You can personalise it to add the missing fields (Customer requisition and Unit price, I think, from your description).

You have to aware that, because of the purpose it is designed for, it only shows lines which are not fully delivered. You can override it by opening the Advanced filter and modifying it.

There are also some Inquiries (under 'Order status') in the Sales and marketing module which could be a good basis for your solution.

    2. I can't find a brilliant way to get what you want. I assume you are using Deliver remainder -> Cancel quantity to cancel the lines?

Try this, it might speed things up a bit.

Go to the All sales orders list page, and hit 'Edit in Grid'. Filter to show only the customer you want. Move the Edit in Grid form to occupy the left half of your screen. On the 'General' tab, hit 'Line quantity'. Move the 'Line quantity' tab to occupy the right half of your screen.

When you click on an order on the left, the 'Line quantity' form will update to show the lines for that order. You can use 'Update line' -> 'Deliver remainder' to cancel lines. You can then click on the next order and repeat.

This works, because the Edit in Grid forms retain a relationship with forms you open from them. The List pages do not. I have not tried AX7, but I imagine this functionality will disappear altogether in that version.
