Fixed assets status

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding fixed assets status: we created 2 FA, did acquisition and depreciation.

Afterwards, we identified that those 2 FA shouldn't have been created. So we reversed the depreciation and acquisition through option "Retrieve fixed asset transactions".

Now all acquisition and depreciation amount are 0. The status is "not yet acquired".

As there are transactions on the 2 assets, we can't delete them. Therefore, I would like to change this status to something like "canceled" or "suspended". Is there any way to do that?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Nelly

    Hello NellyG,

Suggestion from Ludwig can be considered the appropriate approach on this.

Are you system admin or an end user? If you are system admin, then I believe you can change the status of the FA by yourself.

    Best regards,
    Sourav Dam

    Hello NellyG,

    Thanks for the update.

If all transactions have been basically wiped out then there is not much you can do except possibly creating and selecting a new 'dummy' posting profile that has no accounts setup.

In case somebody tried to post a transaction for this fixed asset, an error message should pop up.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Thanks Ludwig,

I thought I could do that but the access isn't allowed (field is grey). Attached are screenshots.

    Hello Nelly,

If you open the books related to your fixed assets then you should be able to change that status to Closed or Suspended.

Simply select the fixed assets, click books and then in the general tab change the status.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
