Dears,

Please suggest is there any way to apply budget control on fixed asset. I have tried basic setup and tried to apply the budget control in fixed asset but it was not working. Please suggest the process or some useful link for this purpose. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Prashant Kumar

RE: budget control on fixed asset

    Hi Prashant Kumar,

I implemented the following two tittle changes (start and end with //LRE) in my demo environment and afterwards the budget control worked for my balance sheet / fixed asset accounts.

    Adj2.png

Please note that I setup budget control for the fixed asset acquisition account - which is a balance sheet account - and got an error once I tried to post an amount larger than the one budgeted.

Would be great if you could test and verify in a demo/test environment and provide some feedback.

    Many thanks,

    Ludwig

The budget control in Ax applies really only applies to expenses and projects.

So you will find the same challenge with time purchases to inventory

I have made a request previously on Connect for this feature as an enhancement for capex budget control.

Without customisation your only option is to create a Capex project - perhaps as a summary project with sub projects per department ,and then e.g. further sub projects per PO

Once receipts are completed then capitalize each project/sub project as a fixed asset  - you then have all the project module budget control features - but it does mean  more set up and data entry work that your users will probably not appreciate.

Without  encumbrance accounting  enabled i,.e. Public Sector module - you will also find problems with whether budget control really tell the approver what he needs to know.

Its currently a big gap in x\Ax FA/Budget management

    Dear Ludwig Reinhard,

We have created a budget on fixed asset main account. When I am creating a purchase order system is not showing any budget check. And its not showing in the report actual versus budget.

We tried budget from fixed asset module. We created an asset and budget line for that asset with offset of clearing account. We posted the transaction in the fixed asset budget and budget module also. But still the same issue.

    Regards,

    Prashant

    Hello Prashnat Kumar,

Can you provide some more information on your issue especially what steps you followed so far (Setup fixed asset, enter fixed asset budget in fixed asset and/or budget module, transfer fixed asset Budget ...). Some screen-prints would be great.

    Thank you,

    Ludwig
