dear ,

i have item the cost for this item in opening balance is 37 riyal in 2016 .... then the vendor give me the item in 2017 free

now need to remove cost for this item to 0 riyal no cost

because all transaction take this cost , but this cost wrong

    Depends on your Inventory model (setting on the Item model group), but you could try the 'On-hand adjustment' form.

    Also be sure that the Cost price on the Item is set to zero, and the same if you have any costing version/item prices set.

    Can we use counting journal to take the old stock off with cost, then another counting journal to put the new stock with no cost ?

    Dear Mohamed,

    You can reverse back the posted opening balance with cost in 2016 period through movement journal and perform Product receipt or receiving in 2017 with zero cost and same quantity.

    Yes, you could do that. You might want/need to run an Inventory close after posting the first count journal.
