ReleaseUpdateDB's

Posted on by 2,572

In AX2012 R3 there are a collection of ReleaseUpdateDB's, these are used to upgrade data as part of an upgrade. There are different groups of them DB60, DB62 and DB63.

If I am going an upgrade from AX2012 R2 to R3 which upgrade scripts would need to be run? I would expect only the ones from DB63 as these related to R3? Or am I missing something?

The versioning just means that for which functionality and version did they add those class extensions. The framework will decide which job to run based on dependencies, license imported+activated, license configuration and system setup. So any of the may execute depending on what I have mentioned, that the framework thinks it is relevant.

When you run the Data upgrade setup and it has done the initial steps (disabling some unique indexes for example), it will load all the data upgrade jobs into the cockpit, and you may check them by their module and job name that it is planning to run.
