Exclude min/max values in master scheduling

Hi all,

I would like to run two different master schedules over the same warehouse. One is including the forecast and min/max and without looking at the forecast and min/max values.

To exclude the forecast in the master plan is easy, but does anyone know if it's also possible to exclude the min/max values from a master plan?

Best regards

Jasper

    Hi Jaspert,

The min/max is defined per product and is based on the coverage group settings. It is not possible to change it, unless you change the setting for all items first. This is far from recommended. Can you explain the scenario why you would want to do this? Eventually you can think of a customization.

    Hi Andre,

We would like to know which planned purchase orders are for fulfilling actual demand (sales orders) and which are for replenisching stock (because there is also forecast or min/max).  The plannend orders for actual demand is something we definately need to order every day without questioning. But when it's for replenishing stock we sometimes want to do some additional checks.

I agree changing the settings is not recommended and as we do not allow customization I think we have to live with it.

    Thanks for your reply!

    Kind regards

    Jasper

    Hi Jasper,

I don't know which additional checks you are doing, but probably you could extract some data to Excel which would be able to help you in your process.

Did you solve this - trying to do the exact same thing.

    Hi Jasper.

The pegging information on planned purchase order level is not enough?

as you can see per each PPO you can see the details why it is needed. With the column „Reference“ you get the indicator what’s the reason for is. In this example there is just a safety stock and a Sales order created. If you use the production module as well you will have a reference like BOM line as well.

hope this will help to solve you needs.

    Hi,

Change your "General coverage group" under Master planning parameters to Requirement and you will get different planned orders for the safety stock refill and your actual demand from sales orders.

    Thanks,

    Mohsin A
