Descriptor file - error running the pipeline

Hi,

I am having issues running the pipeline for my customized reports. I keep getting this error on the 'Set Model Versions' step:

##[error]Resolve-Path : Cannot find path 'C:\DynamicsSDK\VSOAgent\_work\1\s\Metadata'

I did notice that the 'Metadata' folder does not exist on the Build server. but rest of path does exist : C:\DynamicsSDK\VSOAgent\_work\1\s\

Also, after researching this error, I found that I need to upload the descriptor file which I did before running the pipeline a second time but the same error on the same step. I only uploaded the descriptor file for my model where I have done the customization. This is the descriptor file:

Do I need to add the descriptor file for all the referenced models as well? Or this error is not related to the descriptor file at all?

Thank you in advance.

    Hi pam86,

I think you should check checkout step logs and check in the logs where files are downloaded. Also, check if you are using correct branch for build.

About the descriptor file , you should have only one descriptor file per model.

    Hi pam86,

Please check if there is descriptor file under $/Dynamics 365/Trunk/Main.

You don't have to add all descriptor files for all the referenced models, just for your model.

By the way, don't forget to use your prefix in the name of the model, or you might have naming conflicts with future MS updates. "ReportsModel" is not a safe name for a model/package.

Thank you all for your answers.

@Nicolaos, I am using a unique name as my model name is reportmodel_clientname. it is just obscured in the screenshot.

@Sergai, This is the log file:

@Will, This is the path of my descriptor file under main > metadata > modelname > descriptor folder

Please let me know your thoughts...

    Hi pem86,

Could you, please, also share how "Get sources" step is set up?

  • pam86 Profile Picture
    45 on at

Don't really have the 'Get Sources' step. This is the default pipeline created using the build server deployment.

    Hi pem86,

You need to open the pipeline in edit mode and it will be on top of other steps. On this screen, you need to check that "Workspace mappings" is mapped to Main branch, but not to metadata folder.

  • pam86 Profile Picture
    45 on at

it is connected to the main branch
