Associate survey data dynamically to the right customer

Hello community :)
I am new to dynamics and the microsoft eco-system so I hope to find some help in here.

We have dynamics setup to store all of our customers. Each of our customers are going to host an event and the event participants for each event are then going to fill out a survey created with Customer Voice. So for example:

Customer A is hosting an event some guests. The survey answers for those guests then need to be associated with customer A.

Customer B is also hosting an event with some guests and these guests then need to answer that SAME survey but those survey data then needs to be associated with customer B and not customer A.

Does that mean we need to create a survey for each customer or can we do something smart so we don't have to create 300 identical surveys?

Thanks a lot :)

Welcome Daniel Beck -- you can create a customer voice project and select the same environment as your Dynamics 365 customer records, then you can directly lookup contact record (or contact view) from Customer Voice -- by doing so, the survey response is automatically linked to the contact record and appeared under activity timeline. See a blog post from at  Send Surveys To A D365 CE View - Megan V. Walker -- the example is for Forms Pro (previous product name for Customer Voice) but the step to lookup the contact/view is the same.

    Hi Daniel,

For your scenario where each of the customers need to uniquely have a URL that will help track the responses separately - we have feature called Custom Links based on survey variables. This feature is in preview, if you are interested pls drop an email with your tenant id to customervoice@microsoft.com.

    Thanks,

    Arjun

    Thank you Arjun,

This does sound interesting. I am not sure where to find my tenant id?

    Thank you Welly,

What if I don't want to send it to all the customers, I just want to generate a link/ QR code that can be shown or given at the event to the event participants. When they click the link and fill out the survey, the survey data should then be associated with the correct customer? :)

When you generate the survey link, you can import contact and use advanced option to download the template which allow you to specific customer record id in Dynamics. Each row of contact upload through excel will get a unique link which is associated with the Dynamics record id. When the user use the link, the response will be automatically associated with CDS

If it is not possible for you to generate a list of event participant, then you can provide a generic link and include customer identifier (such as email) in the survey question, then use Power Automate workflow to link the survey response to the Dynamics record based on email address after you receive the response.

Thanks again for your answer Welly, it is highly appreciated.

Do you know if there is a way to just generate a link with a variable for the survey? :)
