How do I use a different font than what is provided by D365 Marketing in Marketing Emails? I'm assuming it is something like adding the font as a resource and then referencing it via CSS? I am not sure how to do this. When I tried adding a font as a Web Resource, it wouldn't accept the font file type .ttf)
Hey,
I appreciate, that this thread is a little old now, but since there was no accepted answer given, for future reference purposes please find the full guide on how you can use your custom fonts in your Marketing Emails and Marketing Email Templates!

The restrictions do apply, that Clofly has mentioned: some of your recipients might not see the same look (design) as you intended due to different email clients (gmail, outlook, hotmail, ...) have different limitation for visualization.
Also, please note, that your previously described method of uploading your font file as Dynamics webresources won't work, as only people with access to your CRM would have access to those webresources - so it would show and load properly for yourself but not for any of your recipients.
Hello,
I am having difficulties with displaying the fonts in an email following the instructions with the webresource.
When added as a web resource, it only displays well in design mode (and I can format in designer) and in Outlook client. However, it does not display if I view the email in browser. In fact, the browser console shows error 404 for the .ttf files. Am I missing something?
The steps that I followed:
I am having mixed success referencing the font directly from google.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Thanks
Hi Stephani, I'm fairly (very!) new to this Marketing module and/or html/CSS and struggling with a similar issue. My client would like to have Helvetica in their email sendouts. I have been given a zip file containing 50 .otf files. I assume that would still work?
And how did you add the CSS to the marketing email template if I may ask?
Correct. I also found this to help:
Hi Stephani,
Sorry for misunderstanding.
So in deed you would like to apply external font file for custom web resource in marketing email form, is it right?
As per my understanding, I thought you would like to change font of marketing email itself.

Clofly
Hi Clofly,
I understand it is not recommended. We did find a way to do this - it was a combination of these two resources:
and
msdynamiccrmcustomizations.blogspot.com/.../font-files-as-crm-web-resources.html
In a nutshell:
1. Download font (.ttf) file
2. Add as Web resource to CRM - will need to save as .ttf.css
3. Once saved, remove the .css
4. Add CSS to the Marketing Email via the HTML tab like
Hi Stephani,
Even though we could import web fonts in marketing email and it can display external fonts in preview when go live,
however, web fonts are not supported in many webmail such as Gmail, Outlook etc:
you could read article below for supported text&fonts attributes on different clients.
https://www.campaignmonitor.com/css/properties/text-fonts/
Those blogs have introduced how to custom fonts and style in email:
https://litmus.com/blog/the-ultimate-guide-to-web-fonts(Litmus is preview service provider for marketing email)
https://mailbakery.com/blog/fonts-html-emails-limitations-solutions-industry-standards/
In conclusion, for your marketing email design:
1. Use system supported font style: cursive, monospace, san-serif, fantasy etc.
2. Insert a image to display web font text.(It might be blocked in Outlook client)

Clofly
