Can't Update a javascript webresource

I am getting this error while trying to update a javascript webresource . I tried to clear the cache but no use.

Hi Fatma,

- Is that a managed web resource?

- The name of the web resource is changed by any tool?

- Did you try another browser? For instance, it is Chrome i see, can you try IE.

- The web resource is unmanaged.

- The web resource's name didn't change.

- I tried IE but I got the same error.

Hi,

Is this happening for all web resources ? all users or particular user?

Not sure might be security issue , try to check with different System Administrator user. Also check if this happening for only one web resource ,is there any text format issue , try to paste one function in the file to confirm.

You can wait for few minutes and test again , might be some other user doing publish all customization.

Hi,

This problem happens for one web resource and for all users. And I put one function in a separate file it worked well. I waited one day but no use the same problem appears each time I tried to update the script.

Hi,

Try to restart CRM services if it doesnt help then next steps will be to update it via code.

If you dont prefer to write code follow below steps:

1> Add this webresource in a solution.

2> Export the solution as unmanaged.

3> Unzip the solution

4> Change the code

5> Zip all files and try to import the solution.

I think you can try these;

Option 1:

Add the wen resource into a new solution

Open the web resource through the solution and update it

Option 2:

Copy and paste the code into a file, update the file with the change wanted

Upload the file by "Choose File" button as opposed to updating it by "Text Editor"

Similar things happened for me as well , suggesting you to paste your code in Visual Studio and then check whether your code is correct format or not . You can also share your code here to check , sometimes when you use some method or text which is Used in Dynamics internally you may get this kind of error.

Hi All, was here any solution to this issue? I am facing on most of the OOB entity's javascript, i am not able to update the resource all of a sudden.

Hi,

You try the above solutions but for me the issue was solved after removing the webresource from all the solutions and just keeping it in the default one.
