Cash Flow Beginning Balance of Last 12 Months

I am trying to write a cash flow statement that has a column for Last 12 Months calculations. I am having trouble pulling in the beginning balance for the last 12 months. This will change with each new base period selected. I can get the activity to pull by using the BASE-11:BASE in my period selection, however this can only be used with PERIODIC which doesn't allow for pulling the Beginning Balance. I know there are ways to do this manually, but I was hoping it could be a more automated process, so no one forgets to make the change.

    Hi Amanda,

If you do BASE-11:BASE, you'll get the last 12 months, but not the beginning balance.  If you do YTD, you'll get the beginning balance, but not the last 12 months.  So, there's not a good way to do this.  What you could try is to add a YTD/BB column and set the Period to BASE-11.  That would give you the YTD beginning balance, 11 months back from the base period.  You'd then have to create a CALC column that would add this column and the BASE-11:BASE column.

Hopefully others will have some suggestions for you as well.
