Specific item gross weight and net weight is missing under Item card

Hello,

Some specific items gross weight and net weight is missing data in Item card master data. I have this issue then I am printing out the bill of lading document.

I had a look at my production BOM, all is fine. And I use power Bi to have a look at the master data under item card table, column /gross weight / /net weight/ is showing /0/ for that specific item.

What can I do to make the gross weight and net weight showing correct in the system?

Thanks!

How is it usually populated on the item card? i.e. how come other items have it? Are some users in your company responsible for populating these fields when items are created? Usually these fields are manually populated, so if some items are missing them, they simply need to be populated.

    Hi Valentin @Valentin,

We don't need to populate anything. As long as Prod BOM is well set in the system, the "gross weight" and "net weight" should show data there.

Out of the box there is no connection between a bom and the gross/net weight fields on the item card. Perhaps you have some customization that creates this connection and auto populates those fields. Maybe this customization is not setup correctly for these items? Or it stopped working?

    Hello Valentin,

I don't think we did any customization on these fileds. Isn't it standard to show the weigh under item cards(page "30" master data. You can view it under Power BI when connected to the data source). I don't know why some are showing weight some are not. If it is out of the box, no direct connection between bom to item card, how did the system retrieve those data from?

    Thanks!

Its standard to show those fields. Its not standard to have data populated in them. Either someone manually populated them, and stopped doing it for some items. Or, you must have some sort of customization to connect the values on those fields to the bom, and this customization either stopped working or there is some setup missing for the items with the empty weight.

if not working, create a MS ticket

Hi, as Valentin mentioned, gross weight and net weight are not in the standard item API, this seems to be a custom page. You need to check whether the code gets the correct value. If you are not a developer, please contact your partner.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
