Hi Guys,

Which baseline database to select before starting code upgrade

 - MicrosoftDynamicsAX_Baseline

or

 - MicrosoftDynamicsAX_UpgradeR3Baseline

The steps given in the upgrade guide book is as blow.

1. Close the Microsoft Dynamics AX client.
2. Open the AX 2012 Server Configuration utility (Start > Administrative Tools > Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Server Configuration).
3. If no existing configuration can be modified, create a new configuration.
4. On the Database Connection tab, set the Baseline database name value so that it is the same as the Database name value.
5. Restart the AOS instance.
6. Reopen the Microsoft Dynamics AX client, and continue with the upgrade.

Please tell us what you're upgrading. The steps seems to refer to an in-place upgrade build, when you should select neither of your baseline databases.

If you're doing a different types of upgrade that needs a baseline database (therefore you're using a different steps than mentioned above), note that the names of databases have no special meaning. You (or your administrated) chose them when running installers. Unfortunately we can't you why you created two baseline databases and how you're using them.

"set the Baseline database name value so that it is the same as the Database name value" means that you should use the actual AX database in this case (= no separate baseline database).
