Enterprise Portal - No Role centre option in Home and also when viewing roles - Role Center has not been specified.

Posted on by

HI,

We have AX2012 R2 CU7. This has been running fine for 2 years. We have decided to start to use Enterprise portal. I have set all this up and the portal works fine from a browser.. can see my role center and all works ok. But in the AX client.. I cannot see the role center ..no option for it and also if I go into user profiles , click a profile and then select View role centre .. I get the error message Role Centre has not been specified.  If I assign myself a role centre and access the page via a browser.. the role centre works fine.

I have updated the settings in AX for the EP web site and deployed to the web site. I would appreciate some help as I'm not sure what I'm missing.

    We fixed this by running this code as a job.

    #SysCheckList
    SysSetupLog::saveEx(classStr(SysCheckList_Upgrade), #CheckListFinished);

    The Role center then appeared on our Home page within AX and clicking on View role centre worked fine.

    Dear pdray17,

    You can set different rolecenters for different user profiles (System administration --> Common --> User profiles). The default Enterprise Portal is setup at the bottom of the form, is this your portal? In our setup it's called 'EPDefaultRoleCenter'.

    When you browse to your Enterprise portal website you can see the default Enterprise portal in the URL: http://<servername>/Enterprise%20Portal/EPDefaultRoleCenter.aspx?&WDPK=initial&WMI=EPDefaultRoleCenter&WCMP=<legalentity>.

    Hope this helps.
