Dear All,

I am having the issue as attached in the screen below I have opened the Dimension of business unit but when I set this BU to specific legal entity it is done but once I close this window again the issue remain as of shared value. Any expert opinion in this regard as how I can lock this dimension for specific legal entity.

I don't see any screenshot.

Nevertheless I think I know what you mean and it doesn't work that way. You have a shared definition and you can add overrides for one or more companies. You always see the global view first and you have to switch to a view for a particular company if needed. Creating a company override doesn't remove the main definition, as you seem to think.

Dear Martin

Thanks a lot for your response. Actually I am having an Issue that I have created a legal entity e.g. ABC and there are some business Units of that legal entity like 01,02,03. Now I have created a new legal entity say e.g. XYZ there are some BUs like 05,06 and 07. Now what I am having issue that one of my user has right only to access the legal entity ABC but when he select the Dimension value he can see the dimensions of Legal Entity XYZ that is an issue with my client as when I have explored I found that the BU values are Shared I need to do specify the Legal entity wise BUs.

Does it mean that I guessed what should have been in your screenshot? I was not suggesting anything, I was explaining to you how the logic works.

What I do suggest is that you look at other threads about the same thing, such as this or this.

did you used this dimension in any other legal entity before making it restricted to one legal entity???

No I have the fresh instance and no transactions have been generated yet.

so, can you analyze your data in DimensionAttrValueLedgerOverride (Table)

BU dimensions are shared within all companies but you can restrict the access of them on the GL account structure, so the the company A can't use BU of B company
