Email Broadcast - How to exclude disabled users?

Dear Community,

We've started making use of the Email Broadcast-functionality with D365F&O, to inform our end-users about Bugs, Issues, Fixes etc.
Path: System Administration > Periodic Tasks > Email Processing > Email Broadcast

When launching this job, you have to first select the Email Template (from: System Email Templates), and secondly you have to select either:

  • all online users
  • all users

I would like to send it out to all users, thus obviously i select "all users".
However, this doesn't take into account the fact that we have several disabled users in our User-list in D365F&O.

Question: How can I only send out the Broadcast-message to Enabled Users?
Note: deleting any disabled users from the User-list isn't a solution, as we need the users to remain in the list for Workflow-concepts, as delegation on users is defined.

The only way is creating a customization for that.

That report considers all users accounts with a non empty e-mail address, even if is disabled.

    Nuno is right.

Here is the code behind that functionality.

It takes care of all users where an email address is present.

A work around is if you remove the sender email from all disabled user account under the User option page

Try this and let me know please.

    Dear Nuno & Komi,

    Thanks for your answers!

We will indeed go for the approach of: delete email-address, to avoid emails going out to the disabled users.

    Regards,

    Patrick
