Use Custom Event Registration Form with Event using CMS, not Portal

Good afternoon,

  1. If I copy the <div> tag to embed a Marketing Form (type event registration) on a Web page created using a third-party CMS, not a portal, does the CMS need the 'Event Website' installed on it?

  2. How does it know which Event to create registrations for if the Event is identified on the Event record, not the Form record?

Here is my step-by-step scenario with questions:

A. Install Marketing App without Portal (Use existing third-party CMS for website/landing pages)

B. Create in-person, one-time Event using D365 Marketing - Event Management that uses a Custom Event Registration

C1. Create Marketing Form > Event Registration & Go Live

C2. Click on 'Form Hosting' Tab

C3. Add New Page Record (for an authenticated domain)

C4. Open new page record & copy DIV to embed form on a webpage

----- Will that work?  Can this form be used on a stand alone/external webpage?

----- How would it know which Event to create registrations for if the only relationship between form and event is on the event page which will not be used?

----- Do we HAVE to install the 'event website' on the external website?

Yes, I successfully embedded a custom event registration form on an external Website without having to install the Event Management framework on the website.  The only hiccup I had was having to authenticate http://www.domain.com and http://domain.com.  I did not realize these were treated differently.

    Hi Nya,

Unfortunately, I did not find an answer to whether or not I need the Event Website (Angular framework) installed on the website hosting the event registration form.

I have created the form, authenticated my domain, and am testing it.  So far, it has not loaded but it could require more time - I just authenticated it minutes ago (can take up to 48 hours).

    Hi,

Please refer to the following issue:

(+) Embed an event registration form on a website. - Dynamics 365 Marketing Forum Community Forum

The event level registration is supported.

For session level registration, here is a proposal about it.

Event registration Marketing forms to include functionality for sessions
