I wonder why you've chosen to the topic of upgrades, if you're a newbie and you know neither the version to upgrade from and the one to upgrade to. What is your reason for looking at upgrades?

Note that you didn't tell us which version of AX you want to upgrade from and whether you're talking just about code upgrade, data upgrade or both. Please add these details.

In general, you'll find information in F&O documentation, e.g. Upgrade from AX 2012 to Finance and Operations.
