Dynamics and Biztalk

Not sure if this is the place to post this question...but let me throw it out there and maybe someone can point me to a resource/forum that is more appropriate...

I am trying to create an integration from Biztalk to Dynamics AX.  It appears as if a channel has been configured for that when I go to Dynamics > Basic > Setup > Channels.

But, when I open up a Visual Studio project on my biztalk machine and try to add a generated item, and select adapter metadata, I get the message that there is no active channel configured for the machine I am on.

As stated, I do see an active channel record in Dynamics setup for this machine.  Is there something else I should check?  A service need to be refreshed or something of that nature?

Thanks for any help,

Sherry

    Hey Sherry,

Can you check if the (active) channel has been configured to work with your biztalk server..

Basic > Setup >Application Integration Framework > Channels > Configure (button).

if the grid is empty, then create a new line and type in the server name of your biztalk server (from my experience, i would advices typing in the full server name, even if your running the ax client on the same machine as biztalk. i.e. dont use localhost or 127.)

then enable the actions you want to use.  basic> setup > AIF> actions ... scan and register actions if you haven't already done so and then enable the actions you want to expose.

the next step would be Endpoint configuration (basic> setup> aif> endpoints).. create a new endpoint and set the inbound and outbound channels (also check no constrains and specify a user or user group for document exchange)... then click on action policies (check configuration ) and then click on Data policies.. click enable (or activate, cant remember) on each element that you would like to be included in document exchange.

i dont have a vpc with me right now, so the paths/ names i specified can be slightly off... but this (hopefully) should resolve your problem..

let us know if you have any more questions.

    regards,

    Mohammed Rasheed

Thanks.  Yes, that was all setup just fine.  I mucked with fully-qualified vs. not fully-qualified domain names on the machine I was pointing to and got it to work.
