Item tracking line error on a warehouse shipment for a lot tracked item

Hi All

I am receiving the following error message after assigning lot numbers on the item tracking lines for a warehouse shipment:

What is confusing me is the fact that :
1. There are no "undefined" quantities:

2. The "quantity (base)" and "Qty. to Handle (Base)" columns for the individual item tracking lines agree to each other:

3. The "Quantity handled (Base)" for all lines are zero (which contradicts the error message above):

4. I am unsure how to "dig deeper" and investigate the specific entry (entry number 8631) referred to in the error message as the Item Tracking Lines dont show the entry number. When I try to personalize the form to potentially unhide the "entry number" field/column, "entry number" does not come up as a potential field to unhide.

Can anyone please help me to resolve this issue and clear the error message.

I have the same question (0)

If you wanted to troubleshoot, you can look at the Tracking Specification table (T336) and Reservation Entry table (T337). You can open these several ways i.e. using configuration packages, the 'Table Information' page

I don't know if this helps, but we had a similar error today ...

"Qty. to Handle (Base) in the item tracking assigned to the document line for item <XXYYZZ> is currently 3. It must be 2." this was happening on receipt of a PO line.

what was causing this was that a stray/orphan record in the reservation entry table *SOURCE TYPE=83 (Item Journal Line)* had been created by BC, during receipt posting (as is normal); but the posting had an error, and for whatever reason when it rolled back the transaction, the line remained in the reservation entry table, source type = 83.

and so as each purchase receipt line was being posted, somehow this stray qty of 1 was being included in the quantity validations that the posting routine goes through ... so even though my purchase receipt line was qty 2, and my lot no. tracking was qty to handle 2, BC thought I was trying to handle qty 3.

I found the stray record by dumb luck, when I decided to handle only 1 of 2 and post, I got past the quantity validation, but then BC noticed that the item# of the orphan record didn't match the item# of the receipt line, and I got an error message giving me the Entry No. of the orphaned reservation entry record. Once I inspected that entry no., I saw that it was a reservation against Item Journal Line that didn't exist, and realized the root of the problem.

Long story short, check the reservation entries table for all tracking lines (and if necessary all whse. item tracking lines) against the given serial/lot/package to see if there are orphans like what happened above. Then you will probably need a small code fix to clean them up, as the reservation entry pages don't allow deletion of surplus reservations (which this was).

It is recommended to ask the developer to debug this type of problem directly, as it may be a data problem.
And hope the following can give you some hints.

    Thanks.
