We have over 100,000 SKU's (retail, distribution, repack manufacturing), what do we need in terms of equipment to get some sort of acceptable throughput while processing?

During installation and testing we've encountered slow, (and I mean 'go get a coffee, across the street', slow) performance. Our partners keep telling us to get ever-faster servers...not really helping.  Is there someone out there who could give them some guidance (off-loading tables?) on how to improve performance?

Thank you

Please provide NAV version which you are using.

If you are using NAV with SQL server then please check your database log file size. please ensure that SQL log file should be auto increment mode. if log file size is huge then you can shrink it. this will help in performance of the database.

Please optimize tables specially Item, Item ledger entry, Value Entry.

To optimize. Open the NAV in Classic (upto NAV 2009 R2) or Development environment (NAV 2013 & above). Go to databaese --> Information --> Tables --> Select the tables and Press the optimize button.

Apart from above, it also advisable to re indexing  from SQL server so please consult any good DBA.

    Hi ,

First get a DBA and look into Tracing. It might be some index issue or Database tuning .

It may also be application design issue.

Monitor , trace , evaluate then take action .
