We have an field in the item master called CHEMISTRY TYPE which has 4 options solvent based, Miscellaneous, Water Borne and Speciality. We want to segregate all the sale person into these 4 options so that the sale person who is allocated to solvent based chemistry will not be able to VIEW Water Borne option. Please help how to do it?

Also, you can setup a separate dimension for that chemistry type and fill it with needed values. Then, assign those values as default values to the cards of Sales Persons in Salespeople table, and those value will be assigned to the sales orders of corresponding persons. Thus, they would not need to select anything in addition at all.
You can add "CHEMISTRY TYPE" field in Sales Person Table and fill the value against each of the sales person.
Later, based on the value in Sales Person table, you can put the filter in various screens i.e. Item Master Lookup (sales order, transfers etc.)

Your Salespeople and Users are same? I assume that your new field CHEMISTRY TYPE is defined to the user/salesperson as well.
If then, create a new permission set to show the appropriate tabledata (In this case its the Item Table) per user and assign the permission set to each user/salesperson.
