Hi,
I though I'd ask here in case anyone has seen a similar issue crop up before, but I've just had a marketing email get sent to a list of random email addresses.
The segment used in the customer journey contains the correct list of contacts, and then in the Marketing email insights it lists the right contact names in the 'Delivery' overview but next to the correct contact name is a completely unrelated email address.
I've checked the contact records and they have never had the email addresses ever associated with their account.
Has anyone had this before or any suggestions for what to check?
Thanks in advance
Alex
Just an update should anyone else have the misfortune of stumbling across this now that we've found a solution:
The problem was caused by us restoring a backup to fix an issue where we (I) had accidentally overwritten contact email addresses via a data import.
Though the backup restore fixed all the contact records from our perspective, the dynamics marketing app stores contact guide/email address pairs
Suggest you raise a ticket to Microsoft Support to troubleshoot the issue further.
I believe the issue lies at the core of how and to whom the message is sent.
While sending a message to the recipients you need to ensure that the right email addresses are mentioned in the "to" field of the email.
Hi Alex,
Sounds very strange! Just to quickly verify; in the email itself, is the "to" field set to {{ contact.emailaddress1 }}?
Thanks,
