Upload from Excel to General Ledger Journal

Hi,

I have set-up the LedgerGeneralJournalService to import into a general ledger journal from Excel.

I have prepared the Excel workbook with one sheet for header and another for lines.

Each line is posted to a GL account and a vendor. I could not make it work with the vendor as off-set account wherefore I turned it around so the GL account is the off-set account. So far so could.

I still have a problem: it is only line one out of many that is published to the journal. I do not receive any error message.

Could the reason be that I do not get any Item Sales Group attached to line one, and that AX gives a warning to the service which stops it?

If so, do you know any way of setting the Item Sales Group through the LedgerGeneralJournalService?

Or do you know how it can default to any relevant value when the postings are as mentioned above?

I would be very thankful for any ideas, since my company could benefit in many ways from said service.

Best regards,

Torben

    Holy crap, is that problem still around?  I always thought it was dumb that service behaved that way.  I'm with you, I'd like someone who knows more to tell us how to make it work correctly.

    Hi

    I faced a similar issue in importing customers master using excel. The issue was I didn't clear the table object before the start of next iteration.

    So, if you have a do while() loop at the end of one iteration or after inserting the values clear the object :

    object.clear();

    object = null;

    then start the next iteration. Let me know if this helps

    Hi Mahish,

    Thank you for your suggestion.

    However my intention was to let the user enter all lines in Excel and then publish all at once. I.e. I did intend to you use the service as is without any programming around it.

    Best regards,

    Torben
