The Windows Azure Service Bus adapter enables integration between Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and cloud computing platforms. You can develop mobile, cloud-based, and enterprise applications that communicate securely with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 over the Internet or through external networks by using the Windows Azure Service Bus adapter. The Service Bus acts as a message relay by enabling messages from the Internet to reach Microsoft Dynamics AX service endpoints on a private enterprise network and enabling message responses from the private network to reach the intended client over the Internet.
Using the AIF Windows Azure Service Bus Adapter, Microsoft Dynamics AX services are hosted in IIS and configured to listen to service messages from the Service Bus. The Service Bus acts as a relay that makes building external applications that integrate with Microsoft Dynamics AX easier. Network configuration is not required to allow incoming messages to reach Microsoft Dynamics AX services for messages that are sent through the Service Bus.
The blog post Microsoft Dynamics AX Services and Windows Azure Service Bus describes how to configure Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 to publish services by using the Service Bus adapter.
Hotfix 2845539 is available to provide an AIF Windows Azure Service Bus Adapter for services in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2. To download the Hot fix Click Here.
Microsoft also released a sample which demonstrates how to develop and deploy secure mobile solutions for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. The sample app enables an employee to submit expense reports from a mobile device while traveling. The sample code can be downloaded from here.
