Lock up when printing Checkbook Register report in GP 18.2.1060

Client is on GP 18.2.1060.  They are using Reports - Financial -Checkbook - Checkbook Register to try a listing for one checkbook.  When they click the Print button, GP starts to hang.  Eventually, after about 10 minutes the report will generate to the screen.  I've seen some articles about issues with this report however I haven't seen a firm answer on which GP builds are affected by it and which builds fix it.

Does anyone know if recent service packs for GP will resolve the issue?

Best Regards - Ron

Hi Ron, since you are on 18.2 you have all the fixes that are needed.  With some customers if they have a lot of checkbooks that could be the issue or a larger company with a lot of data.

If we print from the Checkbook register inquiry window it goes much better as we limit to the checkbook and a range, can you try that window and see if it works vs the route you are taking.

If you print from the inquiry window, choose the checkbook first and that will help with slowness

When opening Checkbook Register Inquiry, before selecting a Checkbook ID, select to view Unreconciled transactions only.  This will enable it to go quicker as it will eliminate parsing through the reconciled transactions in history.  Optionally, you can also restrict it to a date range.  Due to the volume of transactions in the history table, we don’t recommend viewing Reconciled transactions using this method
