Error when using Microsoft trigger "E-mail sent"

I am trying to make a journey (Realtime marketing).

I want to sent and e-mail to our customers, and when the e-mail is sent or delivered, I want to trigger a customer trigger, that updates a related record.

I use a wait for trigger condition. You can see in the screenshot the setting I have used. The problem is I am getting an error /The Selected trigger is not supported for the current data source/.

Anybody who knows how to use these triggers in a journey so that I can use the trigger to only update the records for the customers who recieved the e-mail?

  • Error when using Microsoft trigger "E-mail sent"
    Hi Leah Ju and Fiona,

I have tried you recommendations, but it didn't work.

We are on the version 1.1.35296.107 which seams higher than the one in the article you referred to.

It is a trigger based journey not a segment based journey and it is on contacts.

Do you have any other suggestions?

We've had customers experience the same error before.
Please refer to the following similar thread:
The issue was resolved with an updated version.
I hope you can mark my answer verified if it is helpful! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Error when using Microsoft trigger "E-mail sent"
    Hi Martin,

My understanding is that this error will occur when the Trigger's Data Type does not match that of the selected target audience.

For example, if you're using a segment to kick off the journey that is using a target audience of Contact, you can't use a Trigger that is using a different Data type, as can be seen on this 'Lead Created' Trigger:

I would check the Data type against the Attribute on the custom trigger you have created, and that this is set to the same as the target audience.

Let me know how you get on :) If this answer is helpful, please consider marking it as verified.

    Kind regards,
    Fiona
