Error When Deploying Plugin From Visual Studio 2019 Assembly bin\Debug\ could not be found.

Posted on by 1,579

When I attempt to deploy my D365 CE Plugin via Build > Deploy within Visual Studio 2019, I get the error shown below.

I have followed all the steps here: https://crmfortress.com/2019/06/05/setting-up-developer-toolkit-for-vs2019-with-core-assemblies9-0/

However, I still get the error as shown below.

Assembly bin\Debug\JobWODateCorrector.JobWODateCorrector.dll could not be found.

I am at a complete loss. The file IS present in the ..\JobWODateCorrector\CrmPackage\bin\Debug folder so the error does not make sense.

I would very much like to utilize the built in deploy process from within Visual Studio Professional.

What am I missing?

Any help, suggestions, recommendations, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Awesome. That was definitely the cause of the error in question. Now I have one more issue that I am hoping is just as easy. It fails to deploy, but with no info.

Hi, did you change the name of the assembly?
trying to build your solution is looking for JobWODateCorrector.JobWODateCorrector.dll  but in your files it does not exists, the closes assembly name is JobWODateCorrector.DateCorrector.dll.

    JobWODateCorrector.JobWODateCorrector.dll != JobWODateCorrector.DateCorrector.dll

change the name as it was clean and rebuild.

    regards.

Nothing is present for this plugin and as a result I am unable take a screen shot of something that does not exist.

The assembly itself is not yet present in D365 and neither are any steps/images.

I suspect this is the result of Visual Studio not being able to register the plugin because of the  "Assembly bin\Debug\JobWODateCorrector.JobWODateCorrector.dll could not be found." error message. However, the JobWODateCorrector.JobWODateCorrector.dll file is in there as shown in the screen shot below.

I am guessing that the problem is within Visual Studio 2019 in some way.

What can I possibly be missing?

Can you add the screenshot of your plugin being registered?  And any steps/images tied to it?  The same as the posted articles image under step 8.
